Episode Summary
In this episode we discuss The Case For Reparations, written by Ta-Nehisi Coates and published in 2014 in The Atlantic Monthly. The subject of Reparations continues to be in the news including during the recent Democratic Presidential debates, but it’s not a new subject. Coates summarizes in his article by writing, “Two hundred fifty years of slavery. Ninety years of Jim Crow. Sixty years of separate but equal. Thirty-five years of racist housing policy. Until we reckon with our compounding moral debts, America will never be whole.”

- The subject of reparations is kind of a big topic and I had my preconceived ideas on the subject prior to reading The Case for Reparations. Did you also have a preconceived idea regarding reparations and after reading the articles did you have a different or new understanding? Did you viewpoint change at all? How?
